OK yes I have a 200 TDI and I'd like to hear the radio then again I' mean.

What's the scrapyard source of sound deadening materials that I can use in the truck cab to kill the noise and under the bonnet?

I know you can buy kits from sundry suppliers but I'm looking for cheap DIY solutions and the scrapyard is always a nice option!

Have a look at this stuff http://www.ecs-marine-equipment.co.uk/marine-equipment/foil-faced-boak-acoustic-insulation-item-44608.html . Marine engine insulation. My dad has fitted it to the narrowboat engine bay and works a treat. Approx 20quid per 3ftx2ft sheet plus VAT. Can also be used for vehicles  . A lot of marine engineering places sell it.

Well I suppose that's 6 square feet for 20 quid but it ain't cheap!

I shall go down to the local chandlers and see what they have - my office is in Stourport so we have a number of them.
