Engine spped and rpm
« on: January 07, 2006, 11:21:36 »
Can someome tell me what 2000 rpm equals in terms of road speed in each gear for a 200 TDI defender with a 5 speed box - that'd be LT77 would it?

Save me the cost of a rev counter, unless someone can recommend a scrapyard source of a suitable rev counter.

TIA

Mike

It should be an LT77, yes

We'd need to know the tyre size to be able to work it out though :-)

What are you trying to work out ?   I'm intrigued :-)

Well they're 750s but don't worry too much as accuracy isn't paramount.

I'd like to know when the turbo will kick in, on the Disco I am used to the engine noise and have a rev counter anyway but on the 90 I'm not used to it yet. I'd just like to have a feel for what noise is what rpm that's all.
