HOBBIES/ Other interests
« on: January 08, 2006, 20:32:52 »
OK, I've been asked a couple of times about the 'wheels' on the roof of my Niva, so I thought I'd ask you all what you hobbies/other interests include.

For me, I've just got back into 4x4s, and cant wait to get my Niva modded, the first time I've modded one.

My other interests include Photography, just to a nice digital Canon EOS 350D.
I help run a local Mini owners club, and have a 1968 Mini Cooper, and two Mini based Kit vehicles called Jiffys, see the jiifyregister fotopic link in my signature
I LOVE doing Barbecues and have a large BRINKMANN BARBECUE and even have barbecues throughout the winter and even new years eve!

But my main other interest is the mountain boarding and pwer kiting.
The 2nd picture is of a Dirtsurfer which is the 'wheels' on the roof.
Its an inline mountainboard with 20" wheels and chunky offroad tyres. The centre board in 'flexible' and it's fitted with a disc brake on the rear wheel.
Power Kiting is also another passion of mine and I have kites ranging from 1.8m sq to 12m sq.
The first picture is an old picture of me using something called a 'KITEWING'
Its a cross between a Kite, windsurf sail and a Hang glider!! Mad!!!

So what do you lot do in any 'spare' time you get??

When exactly do I have time for other hobbies?!

Both racing the 'Moo' and organising the British Off Road Championship is more than dominating my life outside of work at the moment, although I do enjoy good food and drink.  Paying particular interest to real ale and malt whiskies!

Which photos? The one on my avatar was on Daddyhole Plain in Torquay, and the one with the Kite wing was taken about 7.30am on the top car park at Haytor, IN WINTER, and DAMN COLD!!!

If you want to know where the others on any of the sites were let me know.
It'd be good to meet up if you do come down this way.

Cheers,

I used to do a lot of BMXing and skateboarding when i was younger.
I still love watching them both though.
Love listening to all sorts of tunes too
I used to play guitar (did a couple of small gigs) Bass and the drums, playing rock and stuff.
I was a club DJ in London for a while too.
Played with some big named DJ's.
All good fun.
These days its mainly the Land Rover and family that take up my time (apart from work)

I am lucky enough to have my main hobby for a job (photography, you probably can tell from the huge amount of photos on my profile), I also enjoy skiing, rugby, painting, music, swimming, squash, restoring old photos, reading, computing, web design, food and if I have any time left I like to sleep!
