Is there any special preparation, & indeed, paint required for this task??
(including a good-degreasing/removal of sillcone polish??)

I'm not really too keen on advertising any dealership for free as I travel around, the sticker in the rear-window is enough (& the decal the cheeky beggars stuck on the off-side rear :roll: )

Alternatively, do I ask Tim for a suitably sized circular patch of appropriately coloured vinyl?

Couldn't comment on painting it, usually if not vinyl covered they are screened so if you wanna go that way then inking will be more forgiving as it's what is used on curtain side trailers if not done in vinyl or solvent print.

Vinyl is easier as an option though that being the case you may want to consider a new cover and have something custom on it. Stand out from the crowd.

Most suppliers are not much more expensive to supply graphics fitted to a new cover than they are to supply just the graphics.

We ourselves only sell semi rigid covers too which have better longevity with vinyl than soft ones.

It's vinyl with a rigid (carded??) centre.

Similar to the ones fitted to new Defenders as standard (& lettered by the supplying dealer)

I've seen wheel covers at car boot sales etc for less than the price of a tin of paint.

i picked up a wheel + tyre + spare wheel cover for £3.20 on ebay!

granted the tyre was knackered but the cover and rim were worth a lot more than that.

All you have to do is cut out a circle of hardboard and stick it in the middle of the cover on the inside, then get the sticker from tim

Just think on though are you going to change the tyres/wheels any time in the future?

Measure the diameter you want and have it cut to size, nice neat job then :D
