He's around... he's been mega-busy just lately and so hasn't been on the forum much.

Funnily enough, a couple of days ago he dropped us a message to let us know he was still alive :-)

Hello all.  I did think about making a post to say what I was up to but was not sure if I might be thinking too much of myself :) .

Basically I am making a lifestyle decision as the Frontera could be gone soon, what with the pending possible write off due to a claim.  I could possibly get it repaired but I am assessing how much I will use it.

I loved whaddon and would love to be at the next one, I am just not sure if an event or two a year warrants the running of an old banger costing me 17 miles per gallon all year.  Plus as many will confirm, I like to dive in head first into sticky situations.  If I only have one car, it would be a problem if I broke it.

I think I am going to get a small more economic car and when I can afford it, pick up a little SJ410 for off roading.  So I may not be on the forums too much till I do.  I have had kind offers for a lift round whaddon so I can pop along in my runaround and be a passenger/co driver round the site.

Today my Frontera really put the nail in its own coffin.  Popped to a fiat garage to look at their Punto sports (yes I am from Essex).  Got in my Frontera to leave and it would not start, AA came and said it was the starter motor, got me bump started, so I drove home carefully hoping not to stall it.

If you got bored of reading all the and skipped to the end, I am gone, but not forever.  I will pop in from time to time and still respond to PM's as soon as possible.

And I am not the Cilit Bang guy :).

Hope to see you at Whaddon.

Barry

Look very carefully..... the build quality of the ones we looked at was dreadful. Even the showroom ones had poorly fitted door seals and the glove box lid scraped the side of the dash as you opened it. The panel fit was all over the place too.... not impressive. Needless to say, we didn't buy one   This was about 4 years ago, so they may have improved. They sure needed to!

We thought for a minute that you'd been banned for going to the window :)

Having a 4x4 isn't a pre requisite for being here. So stop around Barry.

We have a few Fiats in the family and they have been ok, but whilst it has 3 years warranty and 1 year AA it wont be my problem  :) .

I definitely will be coming to some events and popping on here from time to time.

Stick around chap - i may have a co-driver's seat going and as this years new years resolution was "S*d work, lets be a hooligan again" it will need filling by some poor unsuspecting individual at some point.
Seriously - just cos you won't have one to play with any more is no real reason to walk away now is it?

What ya need is a Landy Matey.  30mpg and if ya break it you are trying too hard as long as you put the proper armour underneath (i kno, nect timwe i go to Whitworth i'll break it for sure now).  They are the ultimate MPV, good as everyday Car / Tow Barge / Offroader.
'ear all, see all, say nawt; Eyt all, sup all pay nawt; An' if ivver tha does owt fer nawt; Allus do it fer thi sen.
