In mid November I bought the truck cab

First move was to fit larger tyres, BFG MT's 255/85 16's and fit a Storage Systems secure cubby box

Next up was to turn it into a hardtop

This was faily easy, just took some time. Sourcing the TD5 roof with built in ribs, sides and door took the longest. I gave up on trying to find a decent 2nd door without rust and so ordered an 'old style' new one with heated rear screen.
I painted sides, door hinges and door at home - having a go at spraying with a compressor for the first time! :)

This worked well until it came for me to put the lacquer on. A screw on the spray gun fell out and although I put it back in I could never get the spray consistency right to get a good finish. I had to give up as this was the weekend before Christmas and I found out that I had to go to the US on Tuesday morning which left me just the Monday to fit it all together. Here's the rear..

Putting it on was straightforward. Only problem was that I forgot to buy the special bolts for the large holes so I bought some suitably large bolts instead!! ;) Otherwise it was just a matter of lining everything up and then sealing front windscreen section and various gaps - still need to do rear door gaps!
I then put in full headlining from LaSalle, that includes speaker and stereo mouldings in the GRP headlining..

As you can see here, I also put some seats in too all with seat belts. Here some pics of interior and CB..

I wired the cb with an external lead to feed it into the stereo. I find those CB speakers are useless, so I bought a stereo with an Aux-in so that I can feed either CB or Ipod into my stereo speakers.
The Stereo is a JVC unit that cost about 100 quid.

I was also busy yesterday adding first part of suspension mods, you can see this on a another post to save on number of pics..
Cheers
