the blocks are the least of the problems,

at the moment the most common faults are:
air sus leaks, air bags n pumps,
heater controls,blower motors,leaking heater connections,
remote locking problems & BCM's knackering the lock mechanisms

any more Q's ask but any heater fault is a dash out job ;)

Not all P38's are bad, ones treated well and well serviced are good, I have owned mine for 3 years and no major problems with it.

It eats miles in total comfort, they are a lot of car for the money, even if they do go wrong there are plenty of specialist garages who can do the work.

It like all vehicles you get good and bad ones.

thanks it is a nice colour, that one near you is very cheap, there was one on ebay the other day got upto 12k, wasnt as nice as mine either, supose its down to what you will pay at the time, we are thinking on the lines of buying a p38 and sticking 4-5 grand in the bank, not decided for sure though, theres so many horror stories about the p38, if my Disco was a V8  on lpg i wouldnt be thinking of changing, the TD5 is a good lump just its still a Diesel and manual, and i just love V8's...
