hehe

My dad thought he would be safe teaching me to drive his defender on the farm..... he changed his mind when we were driving back to the yard and i had to go around a gate which i did.... driving straight into a wall paniced over steered the other way an nearly took the porch out with my mum in it .....

I'm much better now honest :o)

I let my wife drive my 110 before i put power steering on it. We were going down a lane, and i said "take the next left". Guess what..... We went straight on. The because it was dark, she couldnt see the pedals.

I ended up having to turn the ignition off to stop the old girl. (I mean the Land Rover Of Course) :)

No! Never never ever teach a loved one to drive. Just don't do it. It's going to be a lot cheaper to pay a professional to do, when you compare it to the amount of expensive meals and flowers your going to have to buy to apologies for completely loosing the rag after the FIFTH time the clutch has been dumped in low-first...

Do your girlfriends/wives like or dislike your Landrover/other 4x4?  Mine always dreads a trip out in it and is always taking the p*** out of it when things go wrong.  Will she come around to the ways of the Landy?  Is it an inevitable thing that she will, or do they tend to start off as dislikers and continue that way?

SWMBO moans everytime I say that we'll take the 110 - being a bit lacking in the height dept means she struggles to get in......although when I said I'd ordered some side steps (Mill Services 'Defender Bars'   ), she cheered up.........!!!!

My wife loves the 110, its often a race as to who will drive it. The only thing that stops her is when the tanks getting low (very often for a V8 )and so then I have to pay for the petrol! I even caught her telling one of her friends that it was HER landie!!! I can see words will have to be said. So beware don't let your girlfiends/wives get to like your landie...its a slippery slope after.
