Please help me find a 90
« on: January 17, 2006, 23:00:37 »
I've just been let down by someone over a 90 :-(  It was a really nice 200tdi going for £3500 and I'm totally gutted - I'd built all my hopes up after managing to scrape together the cash from pulling apart mandy the disco.

Anyway I've done ebay to death and bored of emailing sellers.  I'm looking for a good solid 90 200tdi up to around £3.5k.  Good mechanicals but body work not important

I'm in the south (Reading/Basignstoke).. where have all the good 90s gone?  Where should I look?  Any good leads will be worth free spannering, welding, dinner, beer [delete as appropriate]

not far enough to be a problem to get to, but I've just noticed the one in the auction is unfortunately a TD not a TDi  oh well :-(

I appreciate your problem as i had the same trouble and was looking for a 90 for about 2 months until one practically turned up on my doorstep as a friend new a friend who was selling his.I scanned Ebay for a while and found it pretty useless as they were either to far away or the seller was asking to much,i would advise you to bide your time as the right vehicle will come along and get a TDi and not a TD,oh and be prepared to spend some more money as whatever you get as it will want some work, at least a cam belt kit, ignore what the seller says if they say it has just been replaced as you don't know what's going on behind that aly cover.

very wise words - going to see a chap tomorrow who has a few for sale so we'll see what happens - I missed out on two good ones through MC which was a shame.

I had a n/a petrol 110 a while ago and I'm not going back to n/a, I've heard that TD is better but only just so holding out for tdi (thats what was in the disco) so I'm sure I'll be impressed esp as they must be a bit lighter than the old disco!
