Rock Slider mounts.
« on: January 22, 2006, 18:30:06 »
Hi on my IIa i have a lovely set of DIY box section sliders to go on but i have a question!?

Is there any ideas and advice on how i can mount them on the back. So the fuel tank outrigger and the outrigger on the other side too. Is there any pictures i could see so i can figure out how i can work out my mounts.

Will i have to 'beef' up my outriggers to take the strain imposed when i use them?

All thoughts veiws and advice welcome.

Cheers
Rowan.

That is where they mount on the 90, and on my 110 Commercial. I think they should be ok. Someone with a series has probably got them, and will know for sure. :)

talking to  the chap at mill servics a year or so ago he was very resiliant in to talking to non customers due to the fact they would use his idea's for mounting and the design for the rock sliders, and so not make any sense for him to make his for what litttle financai gain he has on hs products.

No i haven't yet.

I have some ideas but a copy of your book would help a lot as it'll let me know that what i will have doen is ok. And if it isn't i will do what the instructions say.

A few pictures would help, if you could PLZ?

Stil very stuck for idea's and it is getting desperate as they were very much needed after almost sliding into a tree a few days ago.

I have found this site

http://www.negativearth.com/New_Folder/Jackablesillsy.html

So might be a bit of help to anyone else who is thinking about doing the same.

Hey got them fitted to mine, basically the front section should be a hole which the chassis bolt goes through, connecting them at the front... Then for the rear I made some angle brackets, at 90 degrees to each other, this allows them to be bolted to the back of the outriggers. I would take a pictue but my digital camera is truly terrible and it isn't bright enough to get a good pic. I decided to use my own fitting system at the rear....

Cheers Matt... There are some pictures in my photo gallary.
