hiya all just brought a terrano im trying to find out what a switch on the dash does,it has two functions press it up and it lites up hold press it down it says power on the swich it as got a/t on it can any one help :lol:  :lol:

Whst model terrano? One thought occurs. Does it have the factory imobiliser? If so you may have a switch to turn off the internal sensors for if you leave a dog onboard when away from the vehicle.

Seen that on a Pajero, if its an auto I think it biases the transmission for smoothness (minimal gear changes) or power.
I must confess the the activities of the UK governments for the past couple of years have been watched with frank admiration and amazement by Lord Vetinari. Outright theft as a policy had never occured to him.

According to the 2005 owners handbook thingy....

its an automatic transmission mode switch

up = s- sport
neutral = nrmal driving
down = snow (ie slippery)
