Nice sig picture matey.

Is it a hybrid or pure falcon??

Went on a falconry course last year, not a 'heres a bird and we will fly it to each other' course.

Was a ten week hands on course, inside, where we learnt about the birds, housing and feeding etc, and how to make various bits and pieces like the aylmeri anklets and jesses. An extremely fascinating time!

Would love to keep one one day but dont have the correct space to house a mews or weathering.

Oh well, maybe after the weekend when I get the right numbers eh?

Cheers
Glenn

Sorry matey only just seen ya Post the picture is my Male Gyr Cross Peregrine light Phase.
I have a Gyr Saker as well so you could say they are Hybrids i tend to prefer them they do not tend to carry the traits of pure lines so a bit less tempremental.
So you enjoyed your course then?, thinking about getting a bird?

A Good basic course is good it gives a good insight of what is involved in keeping such birds and it also shows good thought for the welfare of the bird.

I fly both my Birds at Game IE: Rabbits Phesants etc it is wicked to see them 800 feet above wating on for game to flush and then stooping at over 100MPH..

i Only got hit at this speed round the head when bringing a Bird back in to the Lure and i seen stars!!   ..Bird was fine

Was interesting to find out how much is involved.

I would really love to get one but my lifestyle and housing at the moment means that it wouldn't be fair on the bird.
I'm keeping in touch with others from the course, and will be going out flying with them soon!!

CAN't WAIT!!! :D

Hope you enoy it and its good too see more people think before they get a Bird Of Prey..

Keep in touch and any Help when tou get a Bird let me know

Try a Harris Hawk to start thier like ya Reliable Dog sort of thing they are more forgiving than a Falcon.

You only have to upset a Falcon and you can ruin them and then are usless to fly..

I have seen people do this such things as Not letting them have rewards for fear of increasing thier weight too much and sacraficing what could be a good bird

This is a a Gyr Perryi used to have a compleate Nutter!!
