I have a Defender 90 tin top and a bad back
Are there any seats i could buy in pairs or get from a breakers that would simply bolt straight in without too much fuss? Cobra style wrap arounds dont appeal as i'm a lardie pie eater too

I think the standard suggestion is use Volvo 340 9or is it 240) seats which I fitted to my series and they were really comfortable. Had the wiring for heating too.
I believe some Pug 205 seats fit which I am investigating. Trouble with all these is that you lose access under teh seat though.

Thanks Mike. I had forgotten all about the storage/battery under the passenger side. Might just have to be a comfy moulded foam backrest then. Ta for your input

Personally I'm thinking of fitting the Pug driver's seat and let the passenger suffer they're usually terrified anyway and that's on road. The Volvo seats really are very comfy but as I recall they are a bit higher so I'm hoping the Pugs are lower.

Hey, Ive fitted a pair of Mitsabishe (im a bad speller) FTO seats into my defender90, there easy to fit and easy to remove to acces the batery. The seats are lether and amazingly cumfortable. Found then in a scrap yard near to me and stole them at £50. Good luck.

Go for a set of Rangie Classics. Ultimate comfort. They do raise you up a bit, and you loose the middle seat. But boy are they Comfy. :)

Those Mitsubishi seats - how bucket like are they? I don't want to struggle in and out. Fair do's the LR seats are very practical.

The mitsubishi seats are not bucket seats, there very easy to get in and out of and sane height and depth as standard seats. It only took me an hour to fit them, i used the runners that are built into the seats and secured them straight to the seat box using long M8 bolts.
I fasend the bolts to the seat box as studs sticking up and bolted the lugs on the runners to the M8 studs using flanged bolts.
The seats are amazingly cumftable and look a amazing.

I also suffer from back trouble. Can't drive a normal car far without discomfort. I've fitted Citreone BX seats in both my hybrid and 90. The seat runners are bolted to 1"x1/8" strips bolted to the seat box. Made the passenger easy to lift out. Just held with 4 wing nuts.

SAAB 900/9-3 & 9-5 are an easy fit, the runners are flat so just drill and bolt in, dead comfy too
