Well, no i don't, but  most previous were worse! Anyone on here got  a job that they REALLY like, wouldn't do anything else, and that has no downsides like worrying when  the next payment will come in?

I hate my job. This morning it particularly sucks. I'm stuck in a windowless airless office staring at a computer screen. I'm attempting to guess what profit margin to put on the quote for a job which the boss doesn't want to win despite the fact we are all facing redundancy due to lack of work.  :(

Strangely, I've just last week given up my low-pressure, highly-paid, enjoyable & easy job selling software, in order to become a teacher...

My job has it's ups & downs but that's only down to the incidents that we deal with.
the week before last I was co-ordinating the search for a crewman who  had gone overboard in the North Atlantic and last week I was working with a Channel 4 film crew making a documentry about the weather. Which involved having to go out on this:

while we did a winch exercise with this  :D :

You get into the press when a job goes well like this one or this one and sometimes when things are not so good like here.

I get to do, see and take part in things I never would have imagined when I was at school and I've not got tired of it so far and I've been doing it since 1987.  :D

I own my own business, well half of it anyway! My then boss at Lotus and I got fed up and decided to set up selling parts for Classic Minis and Morris 1000's. That was back in 1993 and it has been a serious struggle with times of real worry. But we have been consistantly bringing in more than we earned as design engineers at Lotus for some years, so that worry is far less now. Some of our customers can be a pain   But overall it's been worth it.

It's interesting dealing with people from all round the world who all share a common interest. Just demonstrates that we are all the same really. Oh, and I have a trade customer in Florida who is insisting I go and visit soon  :D Mind you, I think he will have me serving at the counter  :?   I reckon he thinks an English accent will boost his sales

There is no way I could go and work for someone else again.

Every job has it down sides, MOD just makes them a bit more permenant. You just don't think about the what ifs when your home, and when your there your usually to busy to worry about it.
Although it helps more when your office is a harden cold war bunker, and the company cars are Landies!

I wouldn't say that I love my job but it gives me a lot of satisfaction knowing that I'm keeping people alive by checking their gas appliances for safety.

BTW, I'm a Corgi reg gas engineer for Wakefield & District Housing.

I love my job because I know if it wasn't done then the residents wouldn't be able to do it themselves, and they are always so greatful for what you do for them. I work in a nursing home with the elderly doing nights so don't have to see the managers who always think they know best, but if they had to do the job's we do thet wouldn't know where to start! You get used to all the blood spit and poo and if you don't you are gone within 5 mins.  :-&
If it's not pink, don't worry, you can paint it!!!
