That really is a bit of a joke, getting off from that.  I hope if I ever get bought up on charges of murder that I have that magistrate.

But what happened to his totting up ban?  thats supposed to be instant and immediate and out of a judges hands.  It shows up on the license as a TT99 offence which is automatically done when a person reaches 12 points (or 6 points on new drivers)

I read it this morning in the paper (Sun), The point is now he will never get banned. As he has been getting away with it all this time he can use it in his defence again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again.....

Not quite. DVLA cannot retire your licence, it is always to the discretion of court. And if the JPs are happy with the [!Expletive Deleted!] to keep the licence, DVLA can do little to change it.

Unfortunately, there's not such thing as an automatic ban.

You can claim hardship if you cannot work without the vehicle, but this is taking that a bit too far.

And he clearly is not "sorry" as he is continually breaking the law.

Exacxtly, he sounds like a menace, and should probably be locked up as well as banned

I am sure we wont have to worry about for much longer if he continues to speed as he will find himself wrapped around a tree on the near future I bet. Well knowing the way the world works he wil prob live and some poor other person will die and he will get away with it.

Can we use this story if we ever get a speeding fine?
