Ignition switch wiring
« on: February 11, 2006, 21:54:05 »
I'm just in the process of putting the wiring back in the dashboard of my 90. Whoever owned it before me cut of all the plugs on the wires to the ignition switch when they changed the wiring loom. It appears I have four wires, brown, white, brown/orange and white/red and five terninals on the switch. Does anyone know which wire goes where, the switch terminals are labled 1-5 and are various sizes  but that does not help when the ends of the wires are bare?

This is what it should be (for a 4cyl petrol/diesel), just had to change mine again!!

1 = White/red wire (Starter motor)

2 = Brown wire (Main live feed)

3 = White (Position II feed)

5 = White/orange (Position I feed)

Hope that helps?

It's nice to know that of all the places a Land Rover can go, anywhere could be one of them!

Remember, when it comes to Land Rover ownership, there is a very fine line between "hobby" and "mental illness."
