Brake pipe no probs, steering box try giving it a clean and add some additive to the system, its like treacle it may reduce the seepage, and the rear body mount, took half a day including stripping the bumper and putting it back together, just jacked the body level on that corner and re plated round the mounting, I presume its the one below the door hinge on the back corner

bad luck Beast.

Mine failed last week with a list a mile long, 90 % of it is rust.
I have cut out most of the rot and have spent the morning welding in bits of plate.

Goth Thing also failed on high emmissons ( as usual).rear fog light u/s and off side main beam u/s.
so  once the welding is finished she should pass.....

I also SORN'ed mine until the work is done.

The leaking i could get away with but the steering box is very rough and crunchy sounding when its turned lock to lock which MOT man said he couldnt let go
Brake pipe i can do thats not a prob and the body mount is one just in front of the rear wheel arch on the drivers side also not a prob
steering box is the biggest prob as its cash i aint got at the minute, luckily i dont use this one every day so its not a problem if its not on the road apart from i dont get to play
I tried the additive and changing the oil etc which stopped it for a while but its leaking again, my 300tdi one is leaking as well so i will need to get that done for the MOT

I am worrying about my mot now, my chassis seems ok, but my drivers side inner wing at the front has a couple of holes in, so am hoping they dont notice that bit....... luckily though while i have the engine out i am going to do an oil change and filter change :D

I thought you had to change like for like with the 3/4 bolt ones, but my mate fitted a 3 bolt in place of a 4 bolt and had no probs, this is between a rrc and disco 1 though

Cheers for the help Bulli.
I had a look on the LRS website and see they do inner and outer sills.
I may as well do the lot while i am chopping out the rust.

For those looking for rear body mounts & sills, have a look here for a contact I got body mounts from. He sells on ebay but will take direct contact.
Body mounts are £25 each and are wel made, saves paying out over £100 for a complete new rear crossmember when it's only the mounts that have gone!!  :D
