A suprise 'visitor'
« on: February 19, 2006, 20:26:17 »
When I arrived home from laning this evening, I was greeted by my son, who came outside to say, 'we have a bit of a problem'  'Oh Gawd', thought I, what have they done whilst I've been out?
It turned out that the cat (Djelibeybi) had brought a Robin in, which had fortunately escaped her murderous clutches, but was currently sitting in a very small gap, between the freezer and a cupboard. Armed with a tea-towel, in which to capture it, I endeavoured to do my gynaecologist impression, and reach the little bird; I just got close enough to drop the tea-towel over it, and of course, it flew up and away, onto the top of the boiler; cue a bit of a comedic session of me jumping from chair to worktop and back again, in an attempt to get it and free it before it did itself an injury, finally, I had the idea of seeing if I could trap it in the colander whilst it was perched on the jamb above the pantry door; SUCCESS!! Dusk was just falling as I released it, it flew off very strongly, and hopefully managed to find its roost, and hopefully it will steer clear of Djeli's smiling jaws in future!!

A chap I used to go mountain biking with had a bike called Binky, on the grounds that it kept trying to kill him.

I tried to call one of my cats greebo, but it wouldnt ever answer to it!

We started calling it something else in the end and it would answer to that!
