Twas me Simon and Mick checking out the Eakring Road as the TRO has been removed.

The desert area was very quiet although the fact we got stopped by the police might have something to do with it. They were in an unmarked car and sort of didn't know what to do when we told them Eakring Road no longer had a legal TRO. All of the rocks blocking it have been moved and the locked barriers have been opened.

Did you like the new stickers :)

How far did you get Ed?

Last time I headed down there there were still rocks under the bridge just after the dessert, is it now passable right through the forest?

If so I might give it another try, I haven't been down there for ages, I tried it with a variety of entrances and exits, but I could never get any of them to link up. I know a lot of locals go down there and cut through the woods (illegally) to get to what look like some cracking mud pits (from the pictures I've seen), but I've never tried it (I'd rather keep my licence   )

It goes straight through now but there's some bad washed out bits in places. You just follow your nose. There's a small diversion around a massive mound of earth but everything else has been moved aside using some pretty large machinery by the look of it.

We only saw mountain bikers today but could hear some motorbikes in the distance. It's not worth copping for an S59 and then losing your vehicle never mind the license. It's hellishly tempting I know but....
They are using moto cross bikes again in Notts police force to stop the illegal 4x4 and bike use.

The 18 month TRO has certainly taken it's toll. It didn't stop the illegal use nor tipping of stuff. I've seen less tipped stuff in a landfill site.
