Jack Hargreaves 'Out Of Town'
« on: February 20, 2006, 21:32:17 »
Just been watching 'Out Of Town' by jack Hargreaves. So hands up, who's old enough to remember  the series.
Was made before my time but still interesting.

I only ever saw jack in How, must have been about the late 80's.
Regards
Matthew

Out Of Town, certainly the early ones started with him driving a horse & cart down a byway.

Apparently it was all done unscripted, certainly shows a bit in the very first episode.
Loads of series new series landies running around in the background of some of the features.

Was that what it was called?  I vaguely remember it as a kid!  Him talking about various country implements.  I also remember is my dad taking me to the pub opposite their Post Office one morning when he was in there and him signing an autograph book - only name in there and upside down, at the back!  Wonder where it went...

I remember watching him in both programs, Its a shame all the old crafts seem to die out except for one or two folk who try to study and train in what is an art, didn't he always have a pipe lit at some point in the show, wouldn't get away with that now (not pc.)
