I drove a disco 3 yesterday :-)
« on: February 26, 2006, 07:09:55 »
Yesterday I was at the NEC caravan, boat and out door show and I was just walking around and suddenly bumped into a sign saying Land Rover towing challenge. Ooh I thought. THe young lady by the door asked if I wanted a go and who was I to say no!!!

I was aloud to go for a 30 min test drive on the roadcoz I had my driving license on me and then when I came back I had a go at their towing challenge which to be honest I could have done better as I took 1 corner not quiet wide enough so had to reverse and correct it but even so the Land Rover chap said I did it in a good time!

I even got a bottle opener that is from a melted down disco 3 alloy wheel from Easnor Castle demonstration car!

It was VERY nice to drive but even so I think I may stick to my 300tdi for now.

did the caravan tow also.
shame the d3's aren't cheeper, seemed a lovely vechicle to drive.
Did you also see the rr's and sports acting as courtesy vechicles for those camping?

The caravan towed very well but that was only at 4-5mph as it was a mega tight course. I didnt see the RR's but i saw some defender counties or what ever the 12 seaters are called.

I towed a broken one to safety on the Edinburgh bypass on Thursday with my trusty 300tdi  :D

Anyone seen the aftermarket spare wheel carrier? At least it makes it look less like a Transit ;-)

Now when will they get rid of the Ford Fiesta interior .... hmmmm

seen the carries, cannt remember where, but makes the d3 nice an chunky.
but wouldn't want to have to lift a 19inch wheel off the back!
might be minority, but i liked the interior, far more family than the defender, felt nice and friendly compaired to our 90
