I'm not sure what's happened to stop it running on petrol, but one thing you could try is taking the fuses out of the lpg system.  They are usually between the battery and the control unit on the wiring harness.

Otherwise, try checking there is power getting to the fuel pump etc.

It seems odd though, running out of gas shouldn't stop it working all together, is he sure that's what's happened?  He would have needed it to run on petrol to get it started today, so it was working then.
No, it's not me!

yep it started up on petrol fine, then switched to gas, the gas ran out after 10 miles (he was on his way to fill up the gas tank   ) stoped the motor flicked over to petrol and..... nothing happend.
He's going to stay with it over night just incase some scally wrecks it.
But we really need to get it home, if it comes to it i'll have to drag it back with the landy, i just hope it will pull it?

Check it hasn't blow a fuse in the LPG system while the solenoids have been in the 'LPG' position if he's run out as in run out and stalled whilst on gas.

Wondering if its something to do with the cut out on the change over, if it uses a electric fuel pump, it may have not knocked it back in, if so  you may just need to get a feed to the pump, also would it have a reset control for the fuel pump, in case of accident, more andmore cars are having them and getting probs with them when they bump a high kerb etc
