I quite forgotten how Defender/Series owners wave each other after 3years of Discovery driving.
Unless the vehicle is evidently a workingtruck (Farmer/public utility) I' ll wave & invariably receive a response

If I get waved at first, it gets to SWMBO & she asks the eternal question;
"Who's that then?"
"Haven't got a clue light of my life!" :lol:

Not just landy owners that appreciate it.
Got stuck in massive traffic once that made a 4 hr journey into a 9 hr journey  :(

While the traffic was stand still me and a few mates with me starting talking to people alongside us. We spotted a couple of ickle children crying so we made  sock puppets with our, er, socks and got them laughing, it was brilliant :D

Even just waving at the grumpiest looking people going past got a smile or two.

I hasten to add that i wasnt driving at the time.
i wish, i wish, i wish i had a landy,
a fiesta is so boring!!!

After getting nice and muddy at Fulmer the other Sunday, we went off to play in the ford in uxbridge.
On route we passed a couple of other 4x4's (a Pajero and a 110) and they both gave us the big wave.
No so much of a Land Rover thing, more of an off road appreciation thing

I took one of my clients out shopping in HL the other week; she was tickled pink when we received 2 'landy waves' - I had to explain it, as she thought the peeps who waved were peeps I knew!! :(contented):

I did wonder what the 4x4 lot are lke with others. I the motorbike fraternity you always acknowledge other bikers coming th eother way with a nod of your head. Not including scooters, mopeds and 125's.

I've given up waving to them - they never seem to wave back round here and HWTHMBO says I'm embarrassing him  :?

Plus, if Tarquin's at home and I'm in the Mondeo waving at Land Rovers, peole think I'm strange...

yep  us lot on www.pocuk.com (pajero club) have a yellow diamond logo on our screens, we wave and flash at each other plus, i also wave at other obvious off-roaders/laners etc, including bikes, although, if i've just cleaned my truck, it is quite a shiny, so confuses folks a tad  !! ( but that was a year or so ago !!)
