Which model is it?

I ask as the father-in-law has a mark 2 & I ought to be able to have a peek later.

The fixing is behind the triangular black plastic trim on the inside of the door., behind a bit of sponge.  either 1 x 10mm or 3 x 7mm (can't remember when it changed). Depending on where the plug is, you'll probably have to take the door trim off.  V straightforward.

According to Haynes.
Removal.
1. Disconnecct battery earth when electric mirror fitted.
2. Unclip quarter bezel from the front of the window opening and remove.
3. disconnect the wiring multi-plug from the mirror control switch.
4. Release the clip and detach the electrical connector to gain access to the retaining bolt.
5. Unscrew the mirror mounting bolt, then withdraw the mirror from the outside of the door. Recover the mirror seal as the wiring/cable is being drawn through the rubber grommet.

Refitting.
Refitting is a reversal of the removal procedure (but with grazed knuckles)

I used to work for Ford, years ago in Product Development mainly and i'll tell you, there may be people ready to slag them off but there is a lot of s**t on the road that wouldn't be anywhere near good enough to wear the blue oval.  Some of the things we use to test for.........
Blue,  1988  Range Rover 3.5 EFi with plenty of toys bolted on
Chuggaboom, 1995 Range Rover Classic
1995 Range Rover Classic Vogue LSE with 5 big sticks of Blackpool rock under the bonnet.
