The Disco has sprung a leak, and the lift pump is dead,  now, I can't do much about the former, and the later is refusing to come off of it's own free will...

hence I think I need to take it somewhere and get them to fix it, now the only two garages I know of are Hunters (main dealer, hmm) and Brooklyn (we'd rather sell you a santana)..

anybody know of someone cheap and relatively competant ?

I don't personally know how good they are (I've only used them to reset the SRS ECU in my old P38 Rangie), but you could try West 4x4 at Waltham Chase ...

I can highly recomend a chap called Jez. He has a little landy workshop and has only worked on landies for about 25 years I think. He is in Hedge End just down the M27. His number is 01489799399

Just say that Silvana Mintos ex partners (John) son James has recomended you. A bit long winded bu he knows my Dads ex partner better than me.

You have probably sorted it by now but just for future reference!

Not cheap, but very very competent.

His boys have been playing with LR produts for years and run/ran thier own racer for a while. They're mustard mate.

But they did miss my loose alternator belt pulley on the crank shaft when they changed the stripped air con belt, very worn alternatorbelt and idler pulley which the bearings were on the way out.

£500 it cost me which was mega cheap and done by an excellent guy in Banbury but even so the pulley wobbed like no tomorrow and the key was worn big time and the back of the pulley was smashed from the vibrating. I  would have thought they should have spoted that. I had to point out the shredded air con belt.

I know we arent all perfect and we make mistakes once in a while because I know I do at work.

Really surprised by that.  :?

They fully prepped a 110 for a couple of mates of mine for a round the world trip. No probs and very sensible. But that was some years ago.

did you say you needed a lift pump.
i keep a universal fit electric lift pump on the shelf at work for fitting on our generators. they can give enough flow for a 6.8l john deere engine.
let me know if you want one, ill flog you it cheap
