Just caught my finger in the pop riveter.  Broke the nail clean in half.  Then poured blood everywhere, so I stuck it in my mouth.  Went upstairs to get a plaster, put it on, then fainted...

I nearly fainted when I took to my hand with an angle grinder, I think it was the sight of the bone that made me feel ill  :(

And to cap it off, I just dropped an axle stand on the broken nail.  How I laughed.

Yeah, I gave up in the end and came in!  Finger's a little sore, but it's nothing compared to the guy on the Stag weekend I just came back from who fell off a quad bike and badly broke his collar bone  :x

 sounds awful, hope its better soon!!

i once ripped my finger end off, was loading wood into an incinerator (used to work for a skip firm) and a piece of wood i threw in, did not go in, at first i thought it had just caught on my glove, and how lucky i was wearing gloves as otherwise it would have.... oh dear.. it has! so i removed the wood/nail from my finger, the remains of the glove, and went into the hut, (tap inside) rinsed it off, inspected and decided it was wise to pop the skin back over the finger bone, bandage it up, and hope it doesnt get infected!

healed really well, still got a slight scar thats kinda green! looks really cool tho!

also got a mark on my left hand from when a drill missed its target and met my hand... that didnt hurt, just bled a lot!

hands are currently covered in lil scabs, as one of our budgies is a bit of a chav! wil randomly attack you for no apparent reason.. hes too small to be worth eating at the mo..

Had a guy pass out on me at work not long ago. Was standing talking to my freind, when i felt the guy fall against me. I then grabbed him before he fell on the ground.

Turned out, he had badly cut his finger on some sharp metal, and thoght he was ok. Then all of a sudden passed out, and didnt know his left from right.

Guess i was in the right place at the right time, stopped him cracking his head on the concrete by catching him. :)

I didn't at the time, but today I first drilled into my hand, then I cut my finger on some swarf, so I have indeed been mopping the blood off the keyboard...  It's standard fare for me, I never do anything to the car without blood being involved.

i hear that.
where i had cut the corner foot wells on my bulkhead with a grinder, i had welded new corners in and was just smoothing some filler into the corners big long line of swarf ripped a gash through my index finger, still makes me gringe now.

I wont even start, seen lots of gooduns. Only one I lay claim to fame with is shattering a kneecap, now THAT hurt. Well it did when I came too a day later.

One that sticks in memory was watching some guy screwing with a running engine, hand down front between the belts and fan...

I know you are all cringing right now...

Trying to adjust timing chain as the engine ran. Chain took off the tips of three fingers, fan amputated his little finger and threw it across the yard and took his wrist down to bone on one side.

In his credit he managed to stop the engine, threw blood everywhere, swore then sat down and passed out. He was lucky though, just scarred at the end of the day.
I must confess the the activities of the UK governments for the past couple of years have been watched with frank admiration and amazement by Lord Vetinari. Outright theft as a policy had never occured to him.
