Umm, speaking as a mod on a forum or two, I'd say they've every right to lock a thread they consider irrelevant.

Asking about Nissans on a Mitsi forum is asking for trouble. Single marque organisations of any type can can very protective about their choosen breed. They may well of viewed your post as some form of bating or spam (particularly given the jibe about url ownership).

Does the title of this thread seem very friendly?

As Led Zeppilin said 'Ooooo, and it makes me wonder'

What if that person decides he doesn't like his Nissan after owning it and gets a Mitsi? He certain ain't going back to a club with an attitude like that is he     You never know who your next customer is  

Moderators shouldn't act like little Gods, they should be couretous and polite at all times. Thankfully here a majority of the moderator are tolerant and couretous    8)

True, but I think what Eeyore is saying is that it's up to them how they run their site... the people who don't like it, won't use it...  consumer choice as you say.

Exactly   A much nicer approach would have been "It's nice to see you've found our site and we welcome your question as a fellow 4x4 enthusiasts. Although we can't offer any help on your particular vehicle, you could try www.mud-club.com as they're also a friendly bunch and have a section that will answer your query"

That's the answer I'd expect from a friendly club and the type of answer I'd give.

It was the abrupt approach from the L200 club, like i say all i wanted to know was if any of their members knew of any Navara Forums ?

And my first thread got deleted without a PM saying why.

Which i thought was very Unfriendly.

My Father has just bought a L200 ( he got a good deal on the old shape as they wanted to shift them for the new model)

and he was looking to join the club, but after the L200 clubs rather childish approach to " Outsider" i told him to steer well clear of their club, and join a friendly one instead :)

To put this into perspective,  i asked the question on a Subaru Impreza Forum, IF a Mitsi Evo owner posted on their site, asking for any Mitsi forums what would they do -
The answer would be firstly to welcome the Mitsi owner, then ask him about his car, and provide any links he wanted, in general to be friendly as the Mitsi owner has the same taste in cars (4wd 300bhp rally cars) so why be nasty ?

as others have said - Sod em, they can keep to their selves :lol:

Couldn't agree more, but you can see how it can happen or manifest. Remember the Great LR vs Mitsi Wars that broke out here some time ago? Heated, messy and ultimately unecessary. We've almost had the LR vs Jeep War as well. There's no accounting for loyalty!

Hey ho, but thats the way it goes. And as Tigger said, it's their forum. I can think of ones much, much worse........  :shock:

and a lada in our little club.
