Where can i get some walding plugs and how many do i need??

there are some on ebay not sure how many you need  i would like to know when to use them

I'm not sure but I have been using just the one for the bottom of the bell housing, but take it out after I have been playing... Also important if you are going wading, is your axle breathers etc..

OK Guys I dont use a wading plug because it cleans the oil off my clutch...he he.  You only use wading plugs if you are going into deep water. If its not deep enough to go upto your gearbox bellhousing then its not worth messing about. If like me you are going up to the  door tops then you have other problems. The series gearbox has a breather hole on the top and if water gets in......you got Milky oil. Not good. What I do is just before I go in I get a plastic bag and a golfball size of grease and pull out the black rubber bung inside on the tunnel housing near the gear leaver and paste it over the top of the gearbox where the breather hole is. The problem is that if you dont and water gets to the hole then as you enter the water with a warm gearbox the cold water makes the gearbox suck the water in. So a glob of grease sorts that out. Its the same for the axels so extended breathers off a range rover or a 90 do that trick for ya.

In answer to your question" how many do I need", Just one, for the bellhousing drain hole, a Tdi will need another for the timing cover drain.
Fit them before you go in water, take them out at the end of the day or soon after, water gets in through other gaps and must be let out.
 Axles, gear and transfer boxes can, and should be fitted with remote breathers if wading, as a hot axle, submerged when wading can suck in a lot of water, ( up to 2 liters).
Search eBay for ukmudmaster for kits and plugs, or PM me for price and or (free) advice.
