panic,panic,...........has anybody got any of those little black plastic headlamp adjusters from a 200 tdi disco,mine are nacked,they are shaped similar to a rocket with a threaded hole all the way through and push into a square hole on the body.I need two,and I cant get any any where Land rover want £30 but you have to buy the whole kit and ive tried paddocks and craddocks to no avail,has anyone got a couple lying around?........ill pay summat!!!

easy bodge fix for those, re cut the thread if its not good, I think its an m6 down to about the last few inches where mine went to a different size

You can do this two ways depening on if the shaft does taper.  If ti doesnt' taper, spin a nut onto the thread, a big washer, place back in place, then another washer and a nut done up tight to hold in place.

If it does taper put a small tube or a pack of washers on the outside, one washer on the inside and do up as before.

Adjustment should be obvious.

it was a temp fix for me that lasted 11 months :-)  then the reflectors went so I bought new ones in the end!

some things have to be fixed before they get worse - other things like headlights can have a perefctly good "alternative repair"  :)

You get them to grip the thread again by gently forcing some of the plastic back into the threaded area with a soldering iron tip.
