you can make it fit but the engine is not strong enough to handle the extra power you would generate . you would need to play with the fuel/air mix to get it running ( more air needs more fuel ) . Its not just a " bolt it on and it will run " job . I once made my own exhaust manofold and added a torbo to a diesel . It didn't last long but it went real well for about 50 miles .

Did you not once live here in the UK down in Birmingham. If not then I have the wrong person. I was given a Turbo off a 90 from down birmingham which was pulled to bits and sold for parts on Ebay. He was a mate of yours if I am right. Has a V8 Gas range rover.

yes indeed you are right . I did lots of work on that very motor . It only died due to a lead foot off road . The chassis broke , then the engine mountings collapsed and then ..... you know ... Landrover stuff. I wonder who got the lump with the zuis kit .?

zuis kit ? What is that. The turbo is now sat on my 2.5TD which I am going to strip down and rebuild. New rings bearings ect ect....not forgetting the all important Oil Seals all round.....he he.
He even gave me the Crank out of the engine. It was sat about in his garage and he just wanted rid. Its a small world. My mum used to live in ontario when she was a kid she 60 now. She moved back here god knows why. The Turbo and engine will be getting fit into a series 3 109 Safari when its done. Photos are in my pics. I am also fitting a perkins 4203 into my 88" when I get round to it next weekend.
He probably better getting a Turbo off a small engine like a renault 5 gt turbo 1.4 and trying that. He wont get to high a boost but it will help. Alot less chance of blowing the head gasket or snapping the crank.

What is the difference apart from no more belt changes. Are they better ? What sort of a price is it ?

I gave him that crank . Its brand new . Its from a 2.5 N/A diesel so not for turbo use I think ! Better check that one . We put the 2.5D into an 88 and then went for a 2.5D turbo lump after the belt went ( hence the gear kit on the 2.5D turbo ) . Perkins eh ! big lump that , not a good rev range . Not my choice for a Landrover but I know lots of folk have them .

the crank AFAIK is the same throughout from the N/a to the TDI
i know that a TD crank is the same as a TDi so i assume the N/a is the same
