what kind of tow rope weight should I be aiming to get? is 2 tonnes strong enough? here is the blurb to one I have seen at challenger 4x4. to see the pic go to
www.lanerovers.co.uk
and go to the challenger link at the bottom of the page.
Recovery rope (polypropelene)
24mm diameter polypropelene recovery rope.
5 meter length
WLL 2000Kg
Our Price: £15.00
any good? needs shackles though.

given that the average landy is 2tonnes on its own, I'd be a bit worried about using a tow rope especially for recovery from mud etc.

thats kinetic tow ropes. I have my doubts about those on how kind they are to the landy.
I would like a solid rope as I can be towed home with it too

You'd be better of with the 8000lb (3636kg) pro comp strap.
Your car will easly out way the working load of 2000kg, even on the road.
