Multi changer removal
« on: March 13, 2006, 18:48:43 »
I've had a quick look under the seat of my 300 ES and it looks a bit tight under there.
How do i get the multi changer out?
I've changed the stereo so the changer is doing nothing now.
Any help or is it just a case of getting in there and struggling?
Advice please
 :D

Hi Jake. It depends. Is it the original? I fit is i think it will come out with a struggle. When i bought mine, it had an aftermarket one in, and i had to remove the seat to get it out. :(.

Not a major job. If you can get down ill help, but its a long way. :)

easy peeasy, just take seatbase trim off (plastic surround) and then there will be a clamp/bracket  (I think) to undo at the side this will release the unit which should just slide out from the front. dont think there is anymore to it but could be wrong.
Cheers.

mine wasnt even bolted down when i bought my disco only found out it was there one day when i had to throw a anchor out the the back to stop to the car, Heard it banging in the box under the seat.

But it came str8 out the box without removing any trim, still got all the wiring though if anyone knows how to rip it out ...
