got a strange one here (and i dont mean me  ) my pc has taken it upon itself to change waht happens when i press the left mouse button it use to open the file now it opens the search folder. This is now doing my head in. If i right click the file it has search as the first option and open as the second one. How do i change it back so it opens the folder and not bring the search box up. Anyone. hope it make sence to anyone reading this. Thanks

On the Tools menu is a Folder Options with a restore defaults button, you can try that.

I havent used windows for ages (linux guy) so I cant be of any more help.

If you use XP then go to sysem tools and do a system restore, restore it back to a date slightly earlier than when the problem started. failing that you could try a program called Regvac that finds and fixes problems in your registry.

switch restore off as it keep bringing back a virus i had. Got  regfix but that dont bring anything up. think i will have to delv deeper into the system. think it may of been a theme that was loaded on to it that has changed it. I have tryed changing it back to windows standard but no luck. i will keep at it it wont beat me. Big hammer is waiting :D
