Annual Leave Dilemma
« on: March 19, 2006, 16:18:14 »
I received a phone-call a few minutes ago, after I'd left a request to find out a definative Annual Leave & Lieu-Days entitlement for my return on Wednesday.
I thought I'd perhaps got 5days left
The news was surprising; 8 A/L & 6 L/D

Now, in theory, if they're not taken by 1st April they're forfeited. But as is usual everyone has a large amount left (last year I had a total of 21days at the same time  )

So I've got until the end of April to take them all, probably in conjunction with everyone else in the same position

But, I've worked out that if I get what I want, I'll finish on Friday 7th April ('Small-Childs' 5th birthday on 8th) at 14:00 & not return until Wednesday 3rd May :)

The only fly in the ointment is that SWMBO will doubtless want her & me to go to the  BWSOW at Royston Vasey by-the-Sea for a few days.

Not allowed to garden on account of my digging everything up

Not too far away then, as you reckoned you know where I live.

Stuff that!!!
I'll be Out & About, I even want to come across to your fair town one day. The last time I was there was about 11years ago

I did get to Bishop Burton & Market Weighton last year though
(remind me, how far is it from BB to Beverley?)

That's uncommonly kind of you, though I'm easily pleased;
1. Point me in the direction of a good 'traditional' cafe in Beverley one that does proper Meat & Potatoe pie (cut from a baking tin, not those 'southern jessie' individually foiled pies
2. Somewhere to drink my 'Yorkshire Tea' & Corned beef (or Ox Tongue) sandwiches.
Unless SWMBO has picked up some Sushi for me beforehand

You keep pushing for this
What exactly do you want to know?

Don't think I've ever been to that northerly part of Cumbria, only as far up the coast as Workington & Maryport.

This may (or may not) surprise you, but I absolutely can't stand the things, never could since I was was a kid.
I would thank no-one for the euphamistically termed 'Sunday Roast'

However, give me a Steak & Kidney Pudding, & you've got a friend

So I've got until the end of April to take them all, probably in conjunction with everyone else in the same position

But, I've worked out that if I get what I want, I'll finish on Friday 7th April ('Small-Childs' 5th birthday on 8th) at 14:00 & not return until Wednesday 3rd May :)

Found out today that between the above dates, there's only 1 day available due to the staff having to carry over

So, if I now ask for Wednesday 3rd to Friday 19th as A/L (inc my 3 days off), I'll then also have 20th-23rd off as my other days off) & return on Wednesday 24th
I hope [-o<

It means I don't have to use this years holidays for this 'freebie' (on May 5th/6th) & the LR show at Driffield :D
