Panhard rod bushes?

Stand next to the steering wheel and move from left to right, see if the body moves but not the front wheel

If yours is anything like mine the lower(axle)bolt will be seized !
I cut either side and then welded a bolt to it. The heat melted old bush so easy then. Just a small cut ans out she came !
Just pricing taps and dyes to cut threads on panhard rod to fit adjuster !!!
Not cheap !
Cant help with steering issue, Sorry !

It's not the U/J's on the steering arm from the steering box up to the bulkhead?
I know these can feel notchy if they dry out but maybe worth a look & a soaking in light oil.

it's not something as silly as the power steering belt being loose or slipping is it ?

not having woken up yet I don't know if you have a serpentine front end, or the elastic band method...

elastic band method    lol, wel give the ball joints a good old bashing with ye old gentle persuasion impliment......and free'd up a little bit, but when i turn the wheel the body moves   and there is play in the panhrod bushes when the wheel is turned, so can that be the other problem ?

It won't be helping.

Time for new bushes me thinks, then see what else could be causing the steering problms, if there is any after the bushes are changed.
