Improved engine breather?

As some of you probably know the pre tdi 19J TD engine has engine breathing problems. This has affected mine and oil has been dumped into the air box through the engine breather. Does anyone know what can be done to improve the breathing and stop the oil getting into the airbox? The engine breather is currently disconnected from the airbox so that it does not fill up with oil.

re route it into a catch tank,, an old beer/pop can should do, and you can always recycle the oil by tipping it back into the engine ;)
or if you want to be really good, e route the breather to somewhere above the front prop uj, that way it lubes that!!
or even into a hole in the chassis to oil it from the inside..

My dad has already got me a bottle to catch the oil. The only other problem is that there is a large amount of gas that comes out of the breather and it looks like there is steam coming out of the bonnet sometimes, maybe i should put a catch tank half way down the breather and reconnect it to the airbox so that the gases are sucked back through the airfilter like they are supposed to. I have seen a device to make the breathing better but it costs £75 but i am not sure about it.

I had the same problem on my 1988 90 TD!
Dave Goodfiekd at LR workshop suggested making an adaptor out of an old piece of of exhaust. This fitted in just in front of the turbo, with a small pipe welded (& drilled) to the side (at an angle). Clamped on with a jubilee clip,  and then the intake hose clamped to that. I know it sounds like gobbledygook, but the idea was the breather pie was then attached to the small pipe, venting the oil which splashes onto your air filter, into the turbo instead.  The hole on the air filter was blanked off.

I had this on me old 2.5 before i wipped it out and dropped in 200TDI just remove pipe and strapp to chassi and bobs ya uncle one well preserved chassi..

It is caused by Pressurised crank case
