how have you lot got on when changing your log book from 2.25ltr to a v8.
DVLA have had my log book for 3 weeks, so i rang them and they told me they were investgating my vehicles history due to wanting to change the 'description' from '88"4cyl' to '88"8cyl'.
i was told by a MOT guy it shoulndt be a problem but i will have to have the conversion inspected by vosa and the brake effiency checking against new vehicle weight.
loads of people put V8's in how have you got on.

I notified them of mine quite recently.
All I did was fill in the new engine number and capacity in the changes section and send it off. Got it back in around 10 days.
I don't think it mentioned the number of cylinders on my V5.

Yes that's right. I hadn't notified them of the change. When I took it for it's MOT the tester changed the details on his screen so I thought i'd better notify them ASAP before I had a letter from them!!

I've never heard of anything like that. Your insurance company might want a engineers report but not the DVLA.
Just out of interest is your Landy tax exempt? They do seem to be getting hotter on mods to vehicles which are. You need to comply with their points system to retain your rights to free tax.

no its not tax exempt, but it does retain it ID, its all on the DVLA web site, so no probs there. i think alot of people will go through this situation as people start taking there trucks for test.

good news people,
DVLA sent my log book back with the description changed to 88" 8cyl.
no questions asked, i think it has somthing to do with series3 now being a classic vehicle.
good luck to anyine else in my situation.

 Is it pointless adding the 4 i have 'done' and had to change the doc's for have been sent and returned without any hassles, apart from one when by mistake i wrote made a mistake on the engine number and they queried it with me when i rang and we resoled it when they read the number to me and i realised a number was missing.
