TD5 to TDi 300 rear door
« on: March 28, 2006, 12:04:47 »
hi,

Anyone any idea if the rear door from a TD5 series II will fit straight onto a series I TDi 300? I believe the rear glass is slightly deeper/longer to give better vision but hope the hinges and latch line up.

I don't know for sure, but I doubt it, because the doors are moderately different.

Hi ya.

I'm pretty sure the rear door was the only steel pressing that was continued from the 300Tdi to the TD5. Early models had some porblems with fit in this area because the pressing machine was becoming worn so the money saving exercise actually became pretty expensive with the warranty claims!

I don't know if the window is bigger, but the bottom is obscured by the spare wheel anyway.
