Has anyone worked in France???

Hi, Has anyone else worked or lived in France before?? just sent off an app for a gardener/maintenance/driver position in south of France. Comes with accommodation etc, but am wondering how much tax i'd have to pay on my salary?
Also is there any does and don'ts to working in France???

They do seem to definately make a stand when they dont like something.

RRR worked out there years ago, not sure she'd know about the tax and that though.

It was a work experience placement through college - sorry, I can't help with practicalities.  I did have the time of my live over there, though.

One thing I did find was that it is NOT TRUE that men kiss each other in greeting - my experience was always that it was a handshake.  Women/men and two women either kiss on both cheeks (the custom is that this is repeated if one person is from Paris) or shake hands - I normally let the other person take the lead on this one!

As with anywhere, French individuals were great, and I was really well treated.  Many people I was working with invited me to their homes for meals, as their culture is centred around the table.  Even a simple meal really does consist of four or five courses.

I hope it all goes well and that you have a whale of a time over there, as well.

Thanks for that :D  I hope my app is accepted and i get the interview, be nice to explore another country and compare it against the UK. I'll keep you all informed on the outcome.

:)  :) I own a cottage over there so therefore spend a lot of time in the Country...I can assure you that France is a wonderful country and the French people are marvellous...my best regards to you and go for it...you won't live to regret it...

Cheers :D . I know the roads out there are deserted compared to the UK, apparently thats due to same amount of cars...but spread over a much bigger area....AHHHHH-BLISS. Saying that, Scottish roads are fairly quiet too.
