I know the early defenders were Turbo, but always thought the 200 Gemini engine was what we commonly call a 200Tdi but then the 1983 bit makes it to early to be a Tdi!!

has it had a 200tdi transplant and the log bok just remained as Turbo Diesel?? (Just a though :? )

Sounds like an engine transplant.

110's were introduced in 83 but the 90 was later in 1984 and you could still get new Series III SWB on an  "A" plate (1984).

The first production 110's & 90's came with a 2.25 petrol, 2.25 N/A diesel & a V8 in the County version.

IIRC the Turbo Diesel didn't come in until 1985 or 86 with the introduction of the 2.5 ltr engines & the TDi was 1989.

So you could have an early 110 with a TDi engine replacing the original 2.25 N/A diesel.

It would seem the gemini engine was the Turbo as opposed to the TDi as they are referring to the Turbo as gemini and the TDi as TDi

1989 for the Disco, 1991 for the 110/90.

Not bad if that's the only mistake. Seeing it was all off the top of my head while sat at work.  :D

Or am I just sad for having that sort of info crammed into my head?  :-k
