how serious / easily curable is a 'tappety cam' in a 300tdi??

More than likly to be the hydraulic followers and they are not a bad job  :wink:

more likely to be the tappets needing set,only the V8 & TD5 had hydrualic lifters

(well theres the MPI but wont say much about that)

tappets need adjusting, as mike sed no lifters on 300tdi's pushrods instead
