If you've got a snokel fitted then you can route them up that. if not then route them along the chassis to the highest point in the engine bay, keeping the pipes well away from any heat.

Yup, fitted and sealed it all up a few weeks back, however how do i get the breathers out of the engine bay where i am led to believe they terminate and up the snorkel??

EDIT: Also what do i do about the rear axle breather that terminates in the rear wheel arch?

You can either insert the breather tubes into the snorkel and run them up the inside or, if there's room, have them run out under the edge of the bonnet by the bulkhead, across the top of the wing and up the outside of the snorkel using tie-raps to secure them.

As for the rear axle, you need to extend this into the engine bay. I ran mine up the rear axle A-frame (allowing some slack for articulation), along the chassis rail and up between the back of the engine & bulkhead where the others are found.

The gear box and transfer case are routed up into the engine bay already. I just extended these.

The front axle is fed along the axle to the radius arm, then along this to the chasis. Then fed through, under the wheel arch into the engine bay.

The gearbox, transfere case and front axle are all attached to the outside of the raised air intake. This is to reduce contamination of the air into the engine.

The rear axle only goes into the drivers side rear wheel arch. The pipe is fed along the axle to the trailing arm, then up this to the chasis.
At present mine goes up the back of the car as the breather wasn't long enough to reach the front. Need to get that changed soon.

May I just chip in and mention that on a 200/300 TDI there is a breather on the boost pump and that too needs a pipe fitting to a saucepan shaped rubber boot just under a pipe.

In had a lot of trouble after water/muck got into the boost pump and hadn't realised there was any sort of breather round there.

Are you positive? I'm pretty sure on my TD5 it terminates in passenger wheel arch?? The drivers side is full of filler tank gubbins and fuel filter and lines.

Rather than up the snorkel I ran them into the back of the dash through a gromet and siliconed them into position. If they get water in now I will be swimming.

Just another option.
