well after going back to work this week after 5 weeks with the prolapsed disk, I have decided to quit this job and go back to my old employer, means a drop in wages (family tax make it up tho ;) ) but its a company where you feel you actually fit in! unlike the bunch of back stabbing moaning gits i currently work with!! :evil:
still HGV driving but at least I have my own lorry so can safely keep my gear in it, fed up of lugging bags of tackle from  wagon to another - just because they cant be arsed to sort their act out..

just thought id tell you.....nothing to do with 4x4's but heh!!

you wont believe how much stuff you can get in a truck just had to empty mine tonight as i am getting my new wagon on monday and when i took all my stuff out of the wagon it filled the boot and back seats of my rr :shock: .

And good look with your new old job. I know what you mean about having your own truck it is so much nicer. and easier to keep clean

I keep mine clean as its is my house when at work and i dont live in s**t at home so why should i when i am on the road. Plus i am proud of my truck

Im a building services engineer, but as our company provides transport for the MOD College were all based at and theres only 5 in our office (1 full time driver!), we've all been told were doing our PCV, so we can all cover for each other!!! talk about multi skill!!

A Shopping trolley puts a Volvo to shame, in most areas...

The new MANs are pretty nice, although at the moment I personally think the DAFs are the ones to have, and watching the motorway a lot of people do.

well I should be in a Scania 94d 220..in fact the same scania i was driving 3 years ago :D...nice bit of kit, but needs a design makeover, has loads of storage lockers, but none of which you can reach while driving, so anything i need on the journey has to live on the bunk!!
also need to stop to open or shut the sunroof, so if its sunny when you set off and then rains..pain in the posterior :evil:

oh i will have a scania highline please i drove one of them two years ago for a company in spalding called browns did the runs to bellshill scotland for some extra beer tokens while on leave, wot a truck that was top of the range too :D  the only down side to it was they sent me up there with a england football trailer with the england squad on the side,  :shock:  it did not go down well when i goto the sainsbury depot  :lol:  :lol:  but in the end they just took the [throw it] for the next two weeks out of me  :lol:  :lol:

We'll order you a nice V8 Topline R series with electic sunroof, leather interior and walnut dash, oh and only 620bhp to play with  :shock:  8) . Get to play with these as I work for your local Scania dealership  :lol:  :D

Drove a FH12 Globetrotter on full air suspension to Breda in Holland for MOT, nice. Drove back none stop, took 15 hours and managed to have a kip on the ferry so I didn't feel too bad for the 12 hour shift in the workshop  :roll:  :? .

Ahh so Rigids then? at 220 I assume it's a 6 legger, an 8 would struggle like hell.

As for the D I'm not sure, I know the quarry wagons tend to be the C Series.

I will agree with you on the daf xf cabs they do look nice and have loads of room. The boss got one of the other drivers a iveco stralis and what a bag of .... that is all cheap plastic and a shed to drive. So i asked for the man and he got me one. Think the other driver is a bit miffed at it as is soooo much nicer than the iveco

dont do 'bendies' lol, only got my class C (rigid) licence.. like to know where the back end is going!!
as far as i know the 'd' means its a high roof sleeper.. :shock:
as for the 620 scanni...YES PLEASE.. make it a 6 wheel rigid and i'll take it ;)

Round here the local road panning spot have a little 6 wheeler that drags the panning equipment, 6 tipper with a 430 engine in it, bet that's a little beastey. (DAF CF btw)

We don't really see MANs in the Tipping work, too heavy by the time you've got Chassis, cab and body on. Same goes for Mercs, and Iveco's are just plain garbage.
