Well its a superwinch... They're driven off the PTO i think, and can either be hydraulic like yours, or driven via a shaft that runs up the side of your engine. The one in the picture was fitted to series landies, but can also be fitted to 90's & 110's so i beleive... correct if wrong! I cant think of the model number right now..

The hydraulics winches in general are normally very strong and reliable units

Chances are if its 3/8th's (9.5mm) then i would say its the 9000lbs........but if its the 7/16th's (11mm) then it could be the 14,000lbs.........providing the cable hasnt been changed in the past.

that is a superwinch 525, almost certainly PTO powered from the transfer box, if not its hydraulic. mega-rated pull dependant on how overload is set... if you ring superwinch they'll send you a manual FOC.

Hi its a Fairey winch ive have one exactly the same on the front of my forward control, it now runs off the pto from a series box via shafts along the side of the sump using two uj joints, it used to run on hydraulics but the motor part packed in! and im still looking for a replacement! but the shaft drive works just as well, it is very strong winch and would pull a 110 out of the sticky stuff no problem mate.

The plate on top says;

 Min cable 8mm.   Mine has 13mm cable, 100ft long fitted..

Sheer pin  45 lb ft. this can be changed to suite cable diameter, and saftey in use but its a pain to fit.

Working load 5000 kg.

Theres an additional SWL plate fitted from company who used it to protect over use by employees!

750 kg straight from drum at 30 degrees.

1200 kg straight from drum vertical.

I also have a fitting and use manual for it.
hope this helps.. :wink:

Thanks for that. It looks just like mine, other than mine been hydraulic.

Mike, thats ok. I was not planning to do it, just wanted to know how. It will only get used about 4-5 times a year.
