HELP
« on: April 09, 2006, 12:47:40 »
Ok me totally fed up now got new panhead bushes and had to destroy the old olds to get them out. But new bushes are about 2mm to big to fit in the panhead arm. Any ideas or has anyone got a 110 they want to swap for a diesel range rover  Me thinking the panhead arm is imperial and the new bushes are metric would that make sence to anyone. I am getting fed up of it now. And i keep looking at 110 station wagons :D

Unless you've got a press, or a very strong vice, then you'll stuggle to get the new ones in as they are a "press fit".

Just had a quick look on Paddocks site and they have panhard rod bush part No.575580 listed for pre 1985 Rangie & ANR3410 for 1986-1994 so there maybe a difference in size.  :?

Polybushes are soooooo much easier to put in, not that helps you right now I know.

If you want to try the poly route, you can buy the bushes on their own no need to get the whole set

I would never have thought anything like that would of happened, but as you have lots of experience with off roading and also being a top land rover mechanic :D ......I'll take your advice.
How long does it take for these things to start happening?????
Is there no-way of preventing this wear???

By the way Mike, my steering guard is ordered :D  :D , gone for the Rebel 8mm aluminium with 8mm brackets (the x3 piece one).

1-2 years for the holes to wear through regular use, under a year if used week in week out in the S***

I'll bow to your knowledge on this one Mikee, but the Poly Blue's on the Disco have been there for 3 years now and still in good condition.
I've transferred the radius arm bushes from the standard arms into the caster corrected ones and theywere in good nick. Just last month I did the same with the trailing arm bushes.
