« on: April 09, 2006, 21:49:10 »
Am travelling up to Colchester from Devon about 2am in the Niva! :?

Should get there for about 8ish after a stop or two! I've got the CB on 30 so if you see me give us a shout!

Once loaded up I'll be heading back.

i'm travelling up the A303, M3, M25 then A12, then back that way too!!

Probably start heading back mid morning after an hours snooze to recharge!!

I'll keep my eyes peeled!!

I hope your trip went ok.

Cheers for that,

Went ok, apart from the alternator giving up on the way there, (in the dark!!)
Charge light would come on with the trailer connected.

Disconnected it and got just enough to run the car but had to stop every hour, switch off all the lights to charge the battery!!

wouldn't have been able to say hello to anyone as my CB blew up at the beginning of the A30!!!

Anyway, got there ok, got the camper and had a few scary moments on the way back!
Decided to take the M4 and M5 back as the hills on the A303 would have made the niva struggle a bit!!

Had it up to an amazing 20mph up Telegraph Hill, in Low Box!!!

Engine sounds a bit rough now, or is that because it's a Niva?? Haha!!

Actually, I own two, yep, but the one I just picked up was made by someone who had a Honda Acty with a Romahome body on the back, but wanted something british to put it on. :D

So this is the third.

I'm still trying to find out more about the base vehicle though, and more and more info is coming up all the time!

My dad used to have a Honda Acty to go to work in, smart little machine.

Always remember how he once drove it into a flood near here on the road and there was about 4 cars stuck. He got out, pushed it out, sprayed WD-40 all round the engine then cracked her up and off again, while everyone just watched on.

Haha!!! Wouldn't happen with these, being a mini engine, just show them some gnat spit, and they splutter to a halt!!! Haha!!!

Good old WD40!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
