Hi all

Looking for a ground anchor..........is there better ones etc ??
Looking for something that i can fold as it needs to go in the back of my disco.
Any help or veiws/info would be great.

i have the straight forward supplies ground anchor and find it ace, has got me out of a few rough spots :)  comes apart by undoing one wing nut, easy to store and very cheap i thought, after looking at all the others, real value for money,  i was very suprised they even work but they are great :P

I got one from scorpion, about the same price...looks much tougher than the straightforward one. It is really heavy so not that easy to run around with!

Cheers Guys

Most of the pics ive seen ..........all look ok but its the usability etc that counts........after winching some very stuck vehicals and having trouble to find an anchor its about time i had one.

Now which to get........ :roll:

Worth checking out ebay as well as i've seen some on there for a reasonable price .
I think im going to have a go at making my own , doesn't look like there's much to some of them .

Get yourself a metre of stout angle iron and 8 half-metre pegs around 15mm diameter.  Drill 9 holes along the angle, alternate sides.  Hammer the pegs through the holes in the angle and into the ground, last hole is for the shackle.  Whole thing packs up into a package 1m long by about the diameter of a big mug of tea.

The Devon 4x4 spade end comes off for storage, they also do a mount for the front winch, to carry anchor during competitions.
Mr Buck has never bent one as far as i know, so it must be good. :wink:

also remember there are different types.........

the spade type is good for mud and non rocky ground!!!!!!!

the peg type is good for rocky ground but  not soft mud!!!!!

you could nowbe looking for two :wink:
