Tim, invest in some De-Solv-it  - it's magic!! It even gets used engine oil out of clothes!! Focus DIY @ Hinckley sells it, as does Wilkinsons and Scummerfield  :D

It's very gentle, as it's orange oil based, I've used it on lots of clothes I've managed to muck up whilst spannering, and it's only ever got the muck out and left the colour.
Do you mean to say you have LR seats that have no stains on 'em?? Alternatively, pound shops sell big cans of upholstery cleaning foam.

Where are you? I have quite a decent carpet machine with good upholstery fittings.
I suspect from the replys it's near Hinckley which is a shame as I was in Barwell over the weekend.

When I bought my disco the seats were badly stained, the previous owner had a boat and did a lot of water skiing.

I had one of the old style Vax machines thrown in my garage, dug it out, bought some Vax fluid for carpets and set to cleaning seats.

Amazed at how clean they came up and dried fairly quickly too.
