wheel bearing silly question
« on: April 12, 2006, 18:10:47 »
hi all. a bit of a daft question and i think i already know the answer but just want to check. my near side wheel bearing has developed a tiny tiny amount of play over the last couple of thousand miles or so. is it ok to do the normal car thing and just nip it up a nats nacker?

see im feeling daft for asking now   .

oh and the reason i checked them was i heard a squeak as i was rolling along slowly. but as soon as i put my foot on the brake peddel it stopped but thought i would check anyway........ think it was a set of brake pads squealing
cheers

if it went away when you tapped the brake, chances are that it's the pads rattling in the caliper!bit of copper slip should do the trick,or just turn the radio up!that cures most things!
