Well I got it today and am well impressed.
Wish somebody on the previous thread had mentioned that you need ear defenders over 40 mph. There was a tub of Paracetamol on the parcel shelf, perhaps that should have given me a hint.
I'm also impressed with the way the tops of the doors blow in and out when an artic passes you. I don't remember the RAF ones I used to drive doing that.
Got to get some tyres as these are definately road based.
Any way pics below. The seller had cleaned the exterior for me before pick up (what a nice man). He also chucked in replacement carb and a new sealed beam unit.

Nice and tidy Series 3 you got there. :D
EDIT: Just noticed you have the vent on the offside wing! That was only done on export models to other countries where they are left hand drive.

Hi Steel,
Yeah, there's vents on both sides, the heater blower uses the left hand one and the carb uses the other.

NOW I AM IMPRESSED.....
Its so pretty....just like mine but with paint all over. Mine is a work hores and its just a we bit more powerfull.....he he
But yours looks better. Tip for ya keith. Get some 10 spline range rover diffs for it. When I put them in mine with the less powerfull diesel engine it was alot quieter and better on fuel because you did not have to screw it to keep up with the traffic.....well worth doing.....ask jim willy he had to keep up with me on the way to the lakes.....he he

Nice Truck. Good to see you have the Statutary length of bailing twine on the front bumper too. Dont take it off.
1: It may hold something on
2: If you do remove it, youll be out in the middle of nowhere needing about a foot of bailing twine, or you life will be in danger. :)
Well done though. Looks like a Goodun.

Yup, the bailing twine is staying. I've got me checked shirt, barbour jacket, flat 'at, and I can borrow a labrador and/or collie. Just need the wellies to complete the proper look. The twine is the final touch of authenticity. :(bigsmile):

most of it ;)
hoping to do the engine swap in the next few months.. then the rest has gotta go, axles, rear tub, chassis, gearbox etc..fitting the grill panel to the s3 so that all the engine bay fits as it did in the 90!
